Report V.
Secretary/Webmaster Report VI. Meet
Calendar VII. State Meet – March 24th & 25th, 2007 @ Indy School of Gymnastics - Gene asked about the landing surface for High Bar. Chad said he thought that the hard surface for the L 4/5 is fine. The upper levels should be on the resi though. He summed it up as long as they practice on what they compete on it's okay. Gene said he'd probably have 2 sets - one of each. - Awards - everyone agreed to stick with banners. Jeff reminded everyone that the host club buys those. He also noted that there should be enough of the other awards (medals/ribbons) left to take care of this year. -Format - There was some discussion on what has been done. Andy Poe noted that for the 2006 State Meet that Levels 4-7 were done in a Traditional format and Level 8-10 were changed to the double-judge panel Capital Cup format due to the number of gymnasts. Gene noted that doing the Level 8-10 that way made it last a long time, but Andy said that was partially due to it being a bit more laid back than normal. Bo Morris asked if we should do the Optional levels with two judges again or just one. While the thought that the double-judge panel would prepare the gymnasts for the Regional meet, everyone agreed that the we should do the traditional warm-up / compete format with the ONE judge for the 8-10 Levels. - Level Four Designated Team - Each gym designated 5-Level 4's as their "team". This was new to the 2006 Championships. Jeff asked if anyone had and feelings on how well it worked. Andy Poe noted that there was some issues with the different ways the teams were designated. He wasn't real sure what kind of problems it caused, if any, with scoring. After some discussion, the question was posed: do we want to keep this or not. Chad noted that he didn't think it changed anything. He then asked if anyone thought it accomplished what it was meant to accomplish. Jeff clarified - was it even/fair for all gyms. Gene said he didn't think there was any difference. It was in concept/perception only. Chad said he thought without the rule it would make it easier for the host club. Gene motioned to get rid of the Level Four Designated Team Rule. Chad 2nded. Proposal passed unanimously. - It was then confirmed that the awards are calculated top 3 per age group per team. The only difference than the R & P is the Level 5 which was changed a couple of years ago to: age groups - 7 & 8 / 9 / 10 & 11 / 12+ VIII.
Future Stars - Regional Clinic @ Indy School on Sept. 16-17, 2006
IX. Open Discussion - Zach Gagnon asked for a job description / procedures for his job. Jeff and Chad filled him in a little and said that if he ever had any questions to just ask. - Sonja Rupe asked everyone to register for the Coaches page to enter their own rosters. Also asked a couple questions about the Region 5 page. * Motion to adjourn – Bo Morris 2nded by Chad Ford Passed Unanimously Meeting over at 6:41 pm |
