2000 REGION V SPRING MEETING MINUTES
I. Meeting called to order at 9:25 p.m. Roll call: Dave Forester – Ohio Mark Diab – Illinois Barry Ruhl – Indiana George Krenk – Michigan Bob Witmer – Regional Director Doug Burton – Kentucky (absent) II. Motion to accept Fall meeting minutes: 1st G. Krenk 2nd D. Forester Motion passed unanimously III. Motion to accept Financial report: 1st B. Ruhl 2nd M. Diab Motion passed unanimously IV. Motion to accept paying airfare for regional gymnast to Africa, once, and not buying jackets for our coaches attending nationals: 1st D. Forester 2nd B. Ruhl Vote: 1 – For 3 – Against Motion fails Motion to not purchase jackets for coaches attending nationals and keep the money for future development of our gymnasts: 1st D. Forester 2nd M. Diab Motion passed unanimously V. At Fall meeting we will make adjustments to new rules within our region. (Example: No 16 – 18 age group class II). VI. State Chairs’ WILL send Kelly Crumley’s Regional V Tactical Plan to all coaches within their state in order to get feedback to be discussed at Fall meeting.
Motion for Bob Witmer to put together a list of potential judges, coaches and clinicians, (for submission at Fall meeting), for clinics in place of regional developmental meets. (The State Chairs’ will forward names from their state to Bob who they feel worthy to be on the list). 1st G. Krenk 2nd D. Forester Motion passed unanimously The 2000 Future Stars testing/clinic will be held October 14-14 at Hocking Valley Motion to accept bid: 1st D. Forester 2nd G. Krenk Motion passed unanimously The 2001 Regional Championships will be hosted by Buffalo Grove Gymnastics in Illinois the weekend of April 7-8. Motion to accept bid: 1st M. Diab 2nd D. Forester Motion passed unanimously The 2001 National Championships will be held in Minneapolis. VII. Motion to adjourn: 1st G. Krenk 2nd D. Forester Motion passed unanimously
