Region V Spring Meeting

I.                   Meeting called to order by Bob Witmer at 9:15 pm, 4/12/03.

II.                State Reports:

New State Chair in Indiana – Barry Pruett

III.             Motion to accept Fall Meeting Minutes

V.                  Regional Camp Site and Date:

The Region V camp will take place the week of July 7-11, 2003 to be held at The University of Michigan.   The camp is open for the top 8 class II’s, III’s and IV’s from regionals.  Also any class I on the regional team that is NOT graduating may attend the camp.  The gymnast must pay $75 and the region will pick up the rest.  All coaches are welcome to attend the regional camp, but let Bob know ahead of time and the region will pick up their room and board (not transportation).  The coaches in attendance may get asked to participate, so be prepared. 

Kelly Crumley has created a Region 5 Team Program Manual.  The State Chairs will look this over and get their comments back to Kelly in a timely manner.

VI.               Regional Clinic

The regional clinic will be held November 29-30, 2003 at Indy School of Gymnastics.

VII.            Future Stars and Fall Meeting Site and Date:

The Regional Future Stars and Fall Meeting will be October 25-26 2003 at Greater Kalamazoo World of Gymnastics.  Information will be posted on the regional web site (http://www.mics.net/~regionv/) and Michigan’s web site (http://www.usag-mi.org). 

VIII.         2004 Regional Championship Site and Date:

The 2004 Region V Championships will be held in Champagne, Illinois in conjunction with the 2004 NCAA Championships the weekend of April 3-4, 2004.

The new J.O. program format is posted on the web.  Please review this document and get your suggestions and comments to the age group committee.
